Alexander Hamilton and his wife, Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton, left Philadelphia after coming down with yellow fever to recuperate at the Schuyler Mansion, Elizabeth's father's home in Albany, NY. They were almost not permitted to enter Albany amid fears they carried the fever with them.
