The Museum commemorated the centennial anniversary of the Panic of 1907 with a symposium featuring prominent authors and historians followed by a keynote address by Federal Reserve Governor Frederic Mishkin.This event featured the following panelists:
Robert F. Bruner (UVA), author of The Panic of 1907: Lessons Learned From the Market’s Perfect Storm (2007)
William L. Silber (NYU), author of When Washington Shut Down Wall Street (2007)
Jean Strouse (NY Public Library), author of Morgan: American Financier (1999)
Charles Calomiris, Henry Kaufman Professor of Financial Institutions at the Columbia University Graduate School of Business
Dr. Richard Sylla, Henry Kaufman Professor of the History of Financial Institutions and Markets at the NYU Stern School of Business, chaired the session and moderated the discussion.
