John Mileham, the Chief Technology Officer of Betterment, has been building interactive software products and technology teams for over 25 years. In 2019, John assumed leadership of Betterment’s software engineering organization, after having spent more than five years in various technology leadership and strategy roles at the company. Prior to joining Betterment, he co-founded ImpulseSave, a ground-breaking savings app that interrupted the impulse buying moment with an opportunity to save toward the user’s aspirations. Before that, he spent a decade as a founding technologist on the skunkworks team within Berklee College of Music that developed and scaled up the world’s first online music school.
